What customer problem is your startup solving?
Technology and innovation have dramatically improved the way the cultural and tourism industries market, distribute and sell their products. However, many of our clients have outdated software architectures that cannot keep up with the changes being driven by TravelTech and ResTech companies. Indeed, with COVID-19, it is more important than ever to use innovative and modern software to
- Efficiently manage inventory to compensate for limited and reduced capacity
- Introduce dynamic pricing strategies to counteract last-minute bookings

However, we found that unlike hotels or airlines, static pricing is prevalent in the culture and tourism industry. Players in these industries do not have a built-in solution to use smart pricing and capacity maximisation strategies, costing the industry more than US$10 billion per year.
What is the solution to this problem and how have you found / developed this solution?
With Smeetz for Business, we offer our customers an all-in-one solution to effectively manage, market and price their products by leveraging their real-world data and approaching sales from a technology perspective.
In addition to the required core functionality, for which we offer the most innovative solutions, our solution enables our customers to:
- Accurately forecast their sales and occupancy rates to improve their budgets and resources
- Implement intelligent pricing strategies to allocate occupancy and increase revenue

What stage of development are you at and what are the next steps for Smeetz?
Since launching Smeetz in 2018, we have achieved major milestones despite a volatile environment due to COVID-19:
- We have increased our revenue by 260% year-on-year and have grown in every segment we identified a year ago.
- We won prestigious clients and consolidated our position as an innovator by launching the first smart pricing solution for culture and tourism providers.
- The situation related to COVID-19 has promoted the acceleration of digitisation from 3 to 5 years and improved factors related to our industry.
After a Pre-Series A round of CHF 670,000, our next step is to raise a Series A round of CHF 2.8 million to drive our business growth and realise our international expansion strategy.
