Explicitly developed for SMEs, the rating and reporting tool esg2go aims to make it easy to measure and present the sustainability performance of hotel businesses. The Hospitality Booster team tested the suitability of the online tool for the hospitality sector with 20 pilot participants stemming from ERFA groups. Seventeen hotel businesses completed the rating, and two even had their results certified by an audit through SQS.

The pilot hotels were impressed with the user-friendliness and efficiency of the tool. They praised its easy handling, intuitive guidance, and long-term time-saving benefits. Despite initial data entry and technical language challenges, they found the tool motivating. The affordable price was also positively highlighted. The balance of the three ESG dimensions was particularly well-received. Conclusion: as an industry solution, esg2go offers great potential to provide members with guidance and support on their journey to sustainability.

However, the pilot project also identified opportunities for improvement in process management and recognition of the rating. HotellerieSuisse is currently examining how to find follow-up solutions and develop industry-specific support. If these examinations are positive, a second pilot project for esg2go is planned for spring 2024, which will be open to all members.

Stay tuned for further developments.
